Rubies and Sapphires overpriced
Anet needs to fix the price, they used to be like 1-2k each and now they've jumped to 7k-7.5k each. Sapphires and rubies are pretty much the new ecto and shards. it would roughly cost 230k to craft a set of vabbian armor, i think that is just stupid. anet need to steady the prices. anyone with me on this one?

There's really nothing you can do about the mass amount of idiots who horde items so they can have everything so "cool". It's the same reason why black dye costs so much; idiots think black is the coolest color ever, thus making the price go way above normal.

Thats why the crafting costs of the armor is so low
considering the rarity of the drops, i dont see why it doesnt deserve a high price.

With Sapphires and Rubies, the prices have skyrocketed because there is a high demand for them, due to Vabbian armor, and still a very low supply. People could have, and some did, horde both gems before Nightfall's release but since there was no game-wide demand (as opposed to a solitary collectors/horders) the gems were far cheaper than currently.
As in most things, it is a problem of supply and demand. Increase the drop rate of both gems, or decrease the number of rubies and sapphires required for armor, and the prices will fall and moderate.
I don't think Anet needs to fix the price directly or implement stringent price limits, but I do agree they need to be cheaper - through a way like I've already mentioned, possibly.
(I completely agree with your comment about black dyes, though.)

This is definetly part of it, but not all. The likelihood of a Black Dye dropping is much less than other, cheaper colors. The logical solution, and something that really should be the case anyway, is to make all dye drops equally likely.

Lazy people love to complain when something goes up in price.
Look you idiot... You don't need it. Its there for people that have too much money in the game to blow it on. it adds NOTHING to your character of benefit. So if you can't handle the price tag don't get it. You don't need it.
If you want gems start farming Dijins solo... you'll get plenty...
PS: my Gem stash from when Factions first came out finally paid off. lol I got a ton of skills unlocked!!!

ANET doesn't need to fix anything. The Vabbian armor is a luxury armor so not everyone should be able to afford it. If you want the armor, don't complain about the prices, just go out and farm the items you need.

i'm about to go into a coma here but quickly...
YOU DONT NEED EXPENSIVE ARMOURS THEY ARE A LUXURY, THEIR STATUS AS LUXURY DRIVES THE PRICE HIGHER AND THUS RE-ENFORCES THEIR STATUS AS A LUXURY.

Anet cant do a thing about it, other then increase their drop rate and flood the game with them.
I doubt that would happen.
Chances are that the prices will reduce anyway.
Look at white die. The most sort after Item everyone wanted in the game......
....at the start it was about 25k at one point, then 12k, then 9, and the last I checked it was 8k.

I realise that but you have to factor in that you needed 90 (I think that is the amount, I don't quite remember exactly) for the 15k armors.
also, I think that the pricing on the vabbian armor is correct atm. It fills the gap between regular 15k armor and fow armor. It actualy would be nice if they had another armor set that filled the gap between vabbian and fow but that doesn't belong in this thread.

The difference between your kurzick armor and vabbian are the rare materials where ambers are very easy to get compared to rubies and sapphires which are probably the most rare drops in the game. If Anet does nothing to rubies and sapphires, they will stay pretty expensive. Increase to drop rates would be fine.

^ just like the above poster so elegantly stated, vabbian armor isnt really needed but if u want it, im sure the prices for rubies & sapphires will eventually drop.
